Inserting YouTube videos is now as easy as 1-2-3

It’s now dead easy to add YouTube videos to your Real Estate tribe blog.

Simply activate the Smart YouTube plugin from the dashboard. You’ll then have a Smart YouTube admin area under the Settings tab. Adjust the height and width you want the videos to display in your posts (it’s a good idea to choose one of the default options so as not to cause your videos to scale disproportionately). Then choose the size of your videos for your side bar. Most sidebars are around 270px wide.

Ignore Custom Code and XHTML validation, choose both options in RSS feed options.

To insert a video into a sidebar add a text widget, give it a title then paste the embed code–not the link–into the widget text box. Hit save and you’ll be good to go.

To add a video in a post paste the YouTube video URL with httpv:// (notice the ‘v’).

Important: The URL should just be copied into your post normally and the letter ‘v’ added, do not create a clickable link and don’t use the embed code!

Example: httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWfksMD4PAg

If you want to embed High/HD Quality video use httpvh:// instead (Video High Defintion).

To embed playlists use httpvp:// (eg. httpvp://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=528026B4F7B34094)

If you’re sending posts from Posterous use the same instructions. It works perfectly.
